Description
Cosmic® Automatic De – mineralizer uses a two-stage process to remove impurities from water. In the first stage, water passes through a cation resin bed, which exchanges positively charged ions (cations) such as calcium and magnesium for hydrogen ions. In the second stage, water passes through an anion resin bed, which exchanges negatively charged ions (anions) such as chloride and sulfate for hydroxyl ions. The combination of hydrogen and hydroxyl ions forms pure water.
When the resin beds become saturated with minerals, the system automatically switches to regeneration mode. During the regeneration cycle, acid and caustic solutions are used to flush the minerals from the resin beds. The resin beds are then rinsed with water and returned to service mode.
